Our concrete basins are all handmade and the result is always unique. Our concrete mixture allows for variations in texture and colour and we believe this is what gives concrete its appeal. The finished result maintains the natural look and feel of concrete. Concrete is not the same as ceramic and shouldn’t be expected to be. It may have minor imperfections in colour and texture, and small air-bubble holes in the concrete, but this does not effect its structure or performance.
We use the highest performing sealer that provides excellent water, stain and abrasion resistance and requires very little maintenance.
You do not need to reseal or wax your basin, but you still need to be careful and clean up spills and stains quickly.
No concrete sealer is completely stain resistant and leaving spills overnight could leave a temporary or permanent stain.
All of our products are suitable for residential and commercial use.
Our products can be used indoors or outdoors as our sealer is UV resistant.
Our concrete is seales and is waterproof and stain resistant. It can be used in wet areas without problems.
The concrete may darken if water sits for a while as the sealer is a breathable finish that allows it to be used in outdoor settings. It will naturally dry out and doesn’t cause any damage to the concrete.
We are happy to make custom colours and can match as close as possible to examples/pictures/ideas that you may have. There is no extra charge for custom colours. We provide small colour samples before manufacturing the basin/s, but we cannot guarantee the colour will match 100% to the colour samples due to the variable nature of concrete.
Each basin is made by hand in New Zealand. The process is a multi-step process that takes up to 4 weeks to complete. Firstly, our unique mix of cement, aggregates and pigment are poured into high quality silicone molds and allowed to cure. Once removed further curing occurs before we etch and seal the basin.
We aim to have most shapes and colours in stock, but sometimes there can be a 3-4 week lead time for orders. This allows the concrete and sealer enough time to cure and fully harden.
We accept credit card payment through Stripe on our website. It accepts VISA, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept payment through Bank Transfer and Afterpay.
Currently we only ship to New Zealand and Australia.
Shipping within Christchurch is free on all orders.
Shipping for any basin order is $25 anywhere else in New Zealand. This is per basin, not per order. Delivery is by courier and requires a signature.
Orders are charged in NZD and at checkout the NZ 15% GST will be removed and the price of the basin will be lowered.
We ship to Australia with Fedex Economy. There is a flat rate of $140 per basin.
You may be charged GST and customs import costs in Australia. We have no control over this. You would be contacted by Fedex if there are any costs.
Each basin is wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap and completely surrounded by shredded paper for impact protection and to stop movement inside the box. If your basin arrives with any transportation damage please let us know immediately and we will organise a replacement.
Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a tracking link. You can use this link at any time to check the status of your package. If you are not available when the courier attempts to deliver you should receive a card to call and will need to follow up to re-arrange delivery or pick up.
You can find all the installation details and instructions here. Concrete is a heavy material and has the potential to crack or chip if dropped or knocked against other surfaces. Care must be taken when moving, placing and installing the basin.
All basins have a 24-month warranty against structural failures and defects in materials and workmanship. To view the full warranty click here.
Our concrete is sealed ready to use when leaving our studio and provides excellent stain and abrasion resistance, requiring very little maintenance for years of quality service.
Maintenance and cleaning couldn’t be easier. Damp cloths, mild detergents and other water-based cleansers with neutral pH are all that are needed. We like to use natural soaps or dish liquids. Vinegar, bleach and bleach-based cleaners are acceptable.
Avoid harsh, acidic cleaners and solvents. Abrasive cleansers or scrubbers should be never be used. These include Ajax, Jif and 3M scrubbing pads, and all similar products. Abrasive cleaning products will scratch and damage the surface, compromising the sealer’s ability to protect the concrete.
You should still use normal care with respect to water, oil, acids, and food. Spills should be wiped up as soon as possible, especially for aggressive staining agents such as hair dye, beet juice, berries, and mustard. Staining/discoloration can occur if staining agents are left on for an extended period of time.
